Our Story

 

Farming the rich soil of the Fraser Valley has been part of Bremner family history since the 1950’s, when Stan Bremner began by harvesting potatoes in Delta. In 1980, with the help of his wife, Caroline, and four sons, he planted his first blueberries on their East Delta farm. Today son Alan manages a commercial blueberry operation that has grown to 80 acres, producing top-quality fruit that is prized for its intensity, full body and rich flavour.

It was the excellence of their crop that prompted son Terry to consider producing blueberry juice. He began by testing known brands and was soon disappointed – the juice just didn’t taste like blueberries. Research into standard juice production practices led him to the secret of making the best blueberry juice on the market.

What’s the difference? Bremner Foods uses a juicing process that does not compromise on taste. First we begin by using only premium quality berries from our farms – fresh grade berries, which are the same as the ones you would eat. In contrast, most juice producers use “juice grade” berries – ones that you wouldn’t eat because they are too green or too ripe. Second, we don't add anything! Our juices are not made from concentrate, so they contain no added water. There is also no added sugar, preservatives or cheaper juices (apple, pear, grape) -- just the juice of premium grade berries. “It really is absolutely the best you can get”, says owner Terry Bremner.

With the success of his blueberry juice, Terry extended his quality juicing process to include the cranberries grown on his Fort Langley farm. Drawing on his extensive travels, near and far, Terry Bremner expanded into other fruit juice varieties. He brings us the goodness of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley in Bremner's Black Cherry Juice, and the exotic taste of Turkey in Bremner's Organic Pomegranate Juice. Today Bremner’s juice is offered in Blueberry, Cranberry, BlueCran, Pomegranate, BluePom, Black Cherry, Blackberry and Raspberry varieties.

Bremner's Juices are available in over 300 grocery, drug and health food stores throughout Canada, as well as select stores in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
